|"When we speak of Nature it is wrong to forget that we are ourselves a part of Nature. We ought to view ourselves with the same curiosity and openness with which we study a tree, the sky or a thought, because we too are linked to the entire universe."
- Henri Matisse
My quest in life has been to understand my oneness with the Universe and to reflect that oneness in my work. Inspirations and motivations have been derived from the natural environments of the Chesapeake Bay of Maryland, the islands off the coast of Maine - especially Monhegan Island, The Canandian Maritimes, the Rocky Mountains and Northern New Mexico where I now reside. Here I maintain a studio and continue exploring the life around me. In Nature there is constant change, so it is with my creative experiments in painting, printing and collage. My abstractions invite the viewer to discover connections with the complexities and beautiful aspects of life on this planet.
"These small, intimate collages are but faint glimpses of long ago happenings.
They reflect relationships, influences, happy moments and growing awareness's
experienced in my life - small "Traces" of things past!"
"It is my continual desire to express my spiritual understanding of places and times remembered
and experienced; to reflect upon the Creator's infinite creations that i am privileged to observe
each day of each season in the natural environment; to reflect the Creator's "magic" in the
expression of form, outline and color. "
