Andras Bality’s paintings are based on daily personal experiences and observations. His work method starts with plein air studies, which later are transformed to larger paintings and prints in the studio.
He is inspired by the strong line of American figurative painters from Winslow Homer to Alex Katz.
Andras attended Virginia Commonwealth University for his undergraduate studies and attended the Cyprus College of Art on the island of Cyprus for post graduate work, where he learned plein air painting from English painter Thomas Watt.
Based in Richmond VA Andras paints along the VA- MD Eastern Shore to the Mountains and surroundings of Warm Springs VA, as well as along Croatia’s Dalmatian coast when visiting relatives in Croatia.
